Privileged minority
The Transylvanian Saxon (Siebenbürger Sachsen) minority has existed in Romania for more than 800 years. While the ethnic group is shrinking year by year, this does not seem to affect the reputation of its traditions and institutions.
A local inspection during the "Great Saxon Meeting", where traditional dances are shown by Siebenbürger Sachsen, who travel back every summer, and young Romanians, who want to become carers in one of the big German factories located around Sibiu/Hermannstadt.
But also old inhabitants who talk about the past and are afraid of losing their heritage as their traditions.
